Following this meeting the Soccer, Football, Cross-Country, and Volleyball Coaches will hold meetings to discuss their individual sport seasons and answer questions that athletes or parents may have. The JH Football and JH Volleyball Coaches will also meet with athletes and parents after the general meeting. Just a reminder all 2025-2026 Athletic Paper Work (including Physicals) will be completed on-line.

Senior Banner Pictures will be taken Wednesday July 23, 2025…7:00 pm at the Athletic Complex. The cost for a Banner is $95.00. The Banner Contact is Suzie Weir 605-366-1965. Payments will made to Mrs. Weir…Check, Cash, Venmo@Suzie-Weir-1 Seniors will be allowed one uniform for their Picture…whether Athletic, Fine Arts, Band, or FFA. Seniors may have Garretson Activity Props in their picture ex. Football, Volleyball, Basketball, etc…The Uniform each Senior chooses to wear for their picture can only be an activity we offer at Garretson, no activities will be listed on the banner, only their name. Contact Mr. Steckler for the Uniform of your choice.

On Wednesday, July 16th, members of the football team will take part in a 7v7 passing tournament in Lennox. This is only for skill position players (non OL/DL) grades 9-12. This tournament is non- contact, so players do not need pads. Players will meet at the school at 8am on Wednesday and carpool to Lennox with each other. If anyone would like to come out and watch, the game schedule is attached.
Shoutout to these girls who continue to show up for early morning open gyms! They've been consistently putting in work this summer. Never satisfied.

Some of our GHS National History Day students had the opportunity to meet with Representative Dusty Johnson at the US Capitol on Wednesday. Here they were given a lot of information on what our Senators and Representative do at the federal level. Following our meeting, students were then given the opportunity to see our federal government in action by taking a tour of the capitol itself!
This week, a group of our Garretson students is representing our school and state at the National History Day competition in Washington, DC! While they’re there to present the incredible research projects they’ve worked so hard on, they’re also getting the unique opportunity to experience American history and government in action. These first couple of days have included experiences like walking the halls of the Smithsonian museums, visiting with Holocaust survivors, visiting iconic landmarks at the National Mall. Our students are witnessing the history and civics they’ve studied all year long. Wish them the best of luck today as both groups present their projects one last time before the awards ceremony on Thursday!
