Good afternoon!
This is just a quick reminder that we will be watching the weather this evening and overnight. Right now, the National Weather Service (NWS) is only predicting an inch or two of snow, so we don't believe it will be much of a problem for travel in the morning. However, the NWS has also cautioned us that their prediction may change if the temperature fluctuates by a degree or two, which could yield more snow or potentially freezing rain. If conditions would warrant a two-hour late start on a Wednesday, we would also adjust our dismissal time from 1:30 to the "normal" dismissal time of 2:55 for Elementary students and 3:00 for MS/HS students. As with all 2-hour late starts, AM preschool would be cancelled.
With all weather related changes in start or dismissal times, our intent would be to send out a voice message, text message, post the changes on the school's website and social media, and also post the changes to local media outlets as soon as the decision is made.
We urge all parents and students to make a plan ahead of time in cases where the weather might become dangerous and require us to adjust either the start or dismissal time for school. Please be sure that your child knows what you expect them to do when this happens.
Also, we would like to give a gentle reminder to parents that on days with a "normal" start time, students should not be dropped off at school before staff is "on duty" at 8:00 to supervise students.
Thank you all for your commitment to the safety of our kids, and your flexibility when winter weather forces us to change our plans.

The Garretson School District is seeking qualified applicants for an LPN for the spring semester. Pay dependent upon experience. The LPN will work one-on-one a student with multiple disabilities.
