Garretson Athletics will be moving to Online Registration for the 2025-2026 School Year rather than filling out the hardcopy forms and turning them into the office. The Online Information & Links will be sent out Thursday May 22, 2025, and are due before your child’s first activity practice for the 2025-2026 school year. Online registration will include the following forms and information for participants in SDHSAA Activities for the 2025-2026 School Year in accord with local and SDHSAA Policy. Today is an exciting last day of school! Even more exciting, our project to improve our playground will get started TOMORROW, with the demolition of the current equipment and new equipment that will be installed should be delivered by Thursday! Please note that the playground will be closed while the work is being done to ensure everyone's safety. It is going to be fantastic once the new equipment is installed!

We wrapped up middle school chess club today! Congratulations to Mason Snyders for winning the chess tournament and Thomas De Loera for earning runner-up. Be on the lookout next year for a concession stand sign up to earn money for chess club. We would love to earn some money to buy plaques for the winner/runner-up and a pizza party at the end of the year. Thank you to those who donated chess boards and to all 45 students who participated this year!!
There will be a MANDATORY Girls Softball Meeting for the 7-12 Girls that signed up to play High School Softball next school year. A parent/guardian is also REQUIRED to attend this meeting. Reminder that Registration for the Blue Dragon Sports Enhancement Program is due Friday May 9, 2025, and is open to males and females going into grade 7-12. The program will run May 27 - August 1 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday's.). Sessions will run from 6:30 am - 9:30 am and be determined by the number of participants. Cost is $150.00 (if a family signs up more then one child each child will receive a $50.00 reduction from the $150.00). Information Pamphlet may be picked up at the Garretson High School Main Office, or from Coach Hughes. Information may also be obtained from our Garretson School Website.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of our students who participated in the American Legion Essay contest earlier this year. These students were just awarded as top 3 in their divisions. Thank you to our local Auxiliary for supporting our students and giving them these opportunities.

The Big East Conference JH Golf Tournament at Chester (Lakes GC) Tuesday May 13, 2025 originally scheduled to begin at 11:00 am will now begin at 10:00 am.

There has been a change to the Garretson Golf Tournament Friday May 2, 2025. We have almost 140 golfers scheduled , because of all the participants, we are splitting the meet, with girls going off first at 9:00 am in a shotgun start and then boys immediately following at 12:30 -1:00 pm in a shotgun start. Both boys and girls will still play 18 holes. You may follow the scores of the Garretson Golf Invite. ..The GGID for tomorrow's invite: B25JJI
