Welcome to the Garretson School District. Located in northeast Minnehaha County, Garretson is nestled in a beautiful place surrounded by picturesque Palisades State Park, Splitrock City Park, and The Devil’s Gulch. While being located near larger communities such as Brandon and Sioux Falls, the Garretson community has retained many of those qualities that are the best things about living in a small town - we know our neighbors and care about one another. The roughly 450 PreK-12 students in our building and their families reflect those community values. In our school, the staff truly care about the children and families we serve. We strive to provide our students with a wide variety of opportunities to learn and grow through relationships with staff, academic coursework, and activity programming. In our school, every child matters.
